Mat and Reformer pilates offers an accessible way to rebuild strength and confidence in your body

Pilates is a familiar terms and practice to many people. Founded in the 1920s by German trainer Joseph Pilates, it was originally designed to offer better recovery from injury. It focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and body awareness through controlled movement that focus on core activation through sets like toe taps, leg extensions, and abdominal curls.

The feedback I often receive is that people feel really lengthened, energised, and open. It definitely offers a great basis for core strength stability with positive impact on posture, balance, flexibility and muscular strength. Additional benefits, as with all the practices I embrace and use, include a reduction in stress and an improvement in overall wellbeing.

Classes can be performed without equipment using just your bodyweight, but you can add in weights and resistance bands once you have a stronger foundation.

One of the special features of my practice when I am in the UK is my own Reformer machines in my studio. While it might sound a bit daunting, these machines provide an additional edge to Pilates training because they can be used to serve different levels of ability. You can make resistance training more challenging for experienced users and yet they are still accessible to those relatively new to the practice.

Using my Reformer machines offers an additional depth to the practice in addition to mat work and the outcomes - weight loss, tone, strength, flexibility - are amplified.

There’s a reason Reformer Pilates is popular in celebrity circles!

I offer personal 1:1 training session which combine Pilates based exercises and the Hypopressive method with focus on building core strength, improving posture and expanding breath. This is also suitable for pre and postnatal personal training.

Packages via Zoom are also available.
